本年度の研究は、前年度の基礎研究の総括とその研究分析結果をもとにした構法開発が主であった。基礎研究の総括としては、まず個々に行われている研究を収集しそれらを体系化することがベースとなる。また、遊牧型住居に限らず、自然材料を使用している在来構法についても同様であるが、これらの住居形態は、「原始的住居形態」として位置付けられた上で取り上げられていることが多いため、本研究では、さらにそれを発展させ、住居環境や構法システムなどの評価を行い、現代への技術移転や構法開発に関する研究に展開させた。その際、構築される評価システムは1960年代半ばに生まれたPOEの概念を参考にし、これまでに細分化され試みられた評価方法から、評価項目の検討と評価指数の設定に関して分析し、独自の評価分野と項目、指数設定を行い評価を試み、その結果を構法開発にフィードバックするものであった。発展途上国において、在来構法を応用した経済的、合理的な構法開発を行うためには、構法システムについて考察する必要があり、そのシステム開発においては、これまでの建築生産の変遷を調査、分析することが不可欠であった。建築産業の分野としては、特に大量生産の時代におけるユニット方式、プレファブリケーションによる部品の大型化やBE(Building Element)論について、また、建築家による仮設住宅やアフリカでの住宅提案、軍事用仮設建築について、さらには、UNDROやUNHCRなどの活動報告による、近年の災害時や難民キャンプなどで必要とされる仮設住宅の提案、実験について、それぞれの分野でのデータ収集と分析研究を行った。また、これまでの基礎調査とパイロットプロジェクトを踏まえて、技術移転を利用した学校施設計画と実際の建設活動を行っているが、この構法計画において日乾し煉瓦の開発を行い、環境に適した建築資材の提案を行ったという意味で、途上国の抱える施設不足の解決糸口として評価できるものであり、同時にサスティナブルな開発援助手法を示唆するものとなった。
