项目摘要

今日「近代詩」と呼ばれる知の枠組みが、同時代のいかなる文化的条件と関って形成されたのかを、近代詩の起源と目されてきた『新體詩抄初編』から明治二十年代前半までの詩をめぐる状況を対象として明らかにすること(A)、並びに、明治初期の言説空間における様々な知の枠組みを「近代詩」という焦点を通して浮き彫りにすること(B)、この二点が本研究の目的である。今年度は前年度に引き続いて、『詩抄』の「詩」語観の位置測定に関わる作業の派生的位置づけにある、明治初期の「言語」をめぐる知の分析を中心とした研究活動(→Bの系列に対応)を行ない、その成果として、「「発話」と「書記」をめぐる問題系-明治初期の「言文一致」論に注目して-」を公表した(『近代文学会北海道支部会報』6号、2003年5月。※前年度に公表した「「文字」をめぐる問題系-明治初期の「文字」改良論に注目して-」[『國語國文研究』123号]の続編的性格を持つものである)。同論文が分析対象としたのは幕末から明治十年代半ばにかけてのいわゆる「言文一致」論の言説である。従来、「言文一致」論は、「言」に「文」を一致させようとする構図として検討されることがほとんどであり、「言」と「文」を(双方向的に)一致させようとするというもう一つの構図についての検討はなおざりにされてきたのだが、本論では、幕末から明治十五年頃までの「発話(言)」と「書記(文)」の「一致」或いは「乖離」をめぐる発言群を分析することを通じて、この二つの「言文一致」の構図が同時代の言説空間の中でほとんど同等な価値を持ちつつ存在していたことを確認、その上で、前者と後者の「言文一致」論としての相違-その一例を挙げるならば、前者の「言文一致」論においては「言」と「文」を《表象されるもの/表象するもの》という構図に当てはめた上で「言」を「文」に対してより根源的なものと価値付ける見方が存在しているのだが、後者の「言文一致」論においてはそのような見方が存在しない、など-を明らかにした。
