'Knowledge' and Social Consciousness in Japan during 1970s-1980s : Sociological Analysis of the Printed Matters on Social Thought

The aim of this study is composed of two researches, (1) research for the related literature to this study, (2) research by interview with the social or human scientists and the persons working at some private enterprises, all of whom have lived on during the post-war period in Japan.The former research was almost accomplished. Not only Books and Journals, but the master's thesis lists in some Japanese universities are included in the literature of this reseach. The latter, interview research was also successfully accomplished. I could have good chances to interview with several Europien and East Asian scholars in this research.The findings by this study are as follows.1) There were continuity and discontinuity in the social thought in the post-war Japan.2) As an aspect of continuity, we can point out that 70s social thought is deeply related to 60s social thought and that 80s social thought is related to 90s social thought. To speak conversely, there is a discrepancy between 70s social thought and 80s social thought.3) The main reason above was in the so-called 'lingustic turn,' or a special attention to 'language,'4) This attention to 'language,' however, neglects the problem of the important pre-linguistic aspect of human body at the same time. So, it is the final conclusion of this study that we should pay special attention furthermore to the problem of social body in the comtemporary society.In addition to this, I should add that I could make sense of the decisive importance to convey the socila thought to the oridinaly people who live on strongly in their everyday life through these interviews with some citizens.
