项目摘要

1.『春日権現験記絵』跋文と末代濁世の意識『春日権現験記絵』(以下『験記』と略称)跋文には、地蔵菩薩が化現する春日野地獄に関する記述が見られる。また、跋文中で春日明神の利益を述べる部分で用いられている修辞が、貞慶の講式のうち、地蔵菩薩について述べた部分と酷似する例もある。『験記』跋文には、間接的ではあるが、地蔵菩薩のイメージが色濃く匂っているのである。これは、跋文が、末代濁世にあって特にはっきりとあらわれる春日明神の利益を強調する際に、釈迦滅度後から弥勒出世までの濁世を附嘱された地蔵菩薩のイメージを利用していることを示すものと考えられる。春日信仰における地蔵菩薩の役割の大きさを示す事例である。2.『預修十王経』の古写本前年度の研究で、『預修十王経』の諸本調査・整理を行ったが、あらたに嘉吉二年(1442)の本奥書を持つ写本が見出された。これまで『預修十王経』の古写本は日本ではわずか二本しか確認されておらず、しかもこの二本の書写年代は不明であった。この新出本の嘉吉二年という年紀は、『預修十王経』書写状況を考える上で、大変貴重である。本文系統としては、他の二本と同様高麗版系統であり、密接な関係のうかがわれる東寺本の欠落部分を補う箇所もある。また、全編に詳細な訓点が付されており、『預修十王経』がどのように読まれていたのかをうかがう資料ともなる。3.『六道変相八大地獄図』本絵巻は、断簡のため全体像は不明ながらも、六道と地獄、さらに十王の審判を描いた絵巻の模写本である。『十王経』関係の談義本『十王讃歎抄』との類似点もうかがわれるほか、仏典の引用が多く、特に地蔵菩薩の利益を説く経典として知られている『延命地蔵菩薩経』を引くことは注目される。地獄と地蔵菩薩とのつながりが密接になる中で、この二つの経典が代表的な地蔵経典と考えられていたことを示す例であると考えられる。
