The hypothesis and the testing on the process to enhance self-reinforcement of in-home of caregivers of aged person with dementia and facilitating factors of the process.

The purpose of this research was to reveal the self-reinforcement process of in-home caregivers of aged person with dementia and the facilitating factors of the process through the 16 subjects' interviews and 872 subjects' questionnaire research. The result showed next 4 points ; 1.The self-reinforcement process of in-home caregivers of dementia were 4 processes ; certainty, change, acceptance and growth. 2.The exploratory date analysis about the self-reinforcement for 504 subjects' data(57.8%) showed 4 factors ; certainty(α=0.94), change(α=0.90), acceptance(α=0.83) and growth(α=0.76)(α of all=0.88) and 69.5% contributions. 3.The self-reinforcement scores were correlated with the stress scores oppositely (r=-0.09) 4.Using the multiple regression analysis, the facilitating factors of the 4 processes were revealed. The facilitating factors were ; (1)certainty : the acceptance, the understanding, and the recognition of the disease. (2)change : the acceptance and the caregivers' comfort in mind and body (3)acceptance : the acceptance, the demented olds. (4)growth : the acceptance, the understanding and the comfort in mind and body. These result indicated that we should support the caregivers according to the self-reinforcement process.
