本研究は、幼稚園と知的障害養護学校小学部との学校間の交流活動を経験した幼児について、幼児がそれを他者にどう語るのか、その言及の検討を通し幼児の障害児に関する意識について明らかにすることを目的として計画された。今年度は次の2種類の交流活動を用意し,事後に面接者と幼児との対話場面を設定した。(1)自然に出会う設定:幼稚園年長組幼児と養護学校小学部低学年児童が,両校の近辺の公園に同じ日に出かけ遊ぶ。(2)幼稚園での自由遊び:ある程度環境構成された幼稚園のプレイルームで幼児と養護学校小学部低学年児童が好きな遊びを行う。どちらの設定とも幼児児童全員が設定されたゲームを行うという昨年度の活動とは異なるものであった。このことが,幼児の障害児に関する言及にも反映し,幼児がそれぞれ遊びの中で関わった養護学校児童により,その言及は大きく異なっていた。音声言語が拙くとも身振り等で穏やかに働きかけることのできる養護学校児童に対しては,幼児はままごとや縄跳び等で一緒に遊んでおり,その意識も「かわいい,好き」等と,世話やかわいがる対象として認識されていた。養護学校児童が泣いている場面についても,幼児なりにその因果関係が理解できるものであれば障害とは関係なく受け入れていた。一方,養護学校児童がルールを守れないことは,幼稚園幼児との関わりを妨げ,また,トラブルも生じさせた。ルールの遵守(物を勝手に取る,入れてと言わない)ができないことを幼児は障害があるゆえのものとしては捉えておらず,それを守らない養護学校児童とどのように関わればよいのかという戸惑いや不信感等の感情を持っていることが推察された。幼児がそのような疑問を持った時に,幼児の養護学校児童に対する一面的な認識を変えていく教師の対応について具体的な事例を積み重ね検討していく必要性が,事前指導及び活動内容の検討と共に指摘された。
