平成14年度の研究概要として、以下の調査内容を実施し結果が明らかとなった。平成13年度に実施した30歳以上の加齢する肢体不自由障害者の「参加」の横断研究のコントロールスタディーとして、30歳以上の障害の無い人々いわゆる健常者に対し同一のアンケート項目を用い比較研究を行った。対象者は、関東地方に在住する30歳以上の健常者2000人に対し郵送によるアンケートを実施した。用いた評価スケールとしては、ADLレベルに関してはFIM,参加のレベルに関してはCIQ(Community Integration Questionnaires)及びR-CHART(Revised Craig Handicap and Reporting Technique)を、又主観的満足度に関しては、PGSモラールスケールを用いた。その結果、319名(有効回収率15.9%)から有効回答を得られた。結果より以下の点が判明した。1)ADLレベルに関しては平成13年度に実施した肢体不自由障害者に比べ健常者は断然高い2)参加の程度に関しても同様に平成13年度に実施した肢体不自由障害者に比べ断然参加の程度が高い。3)主観的満足感に関しては肢体不自由障害者の程度とあまり相違が見られない。つまり2点の結果より、肢体不自由障害者と健常者を比較した場合、ADLレベル及び参加の程度に関しては健常者が著しく高いが、主観的満足に関しては両者間にあまり差が見られない、ということが明らかとなった。この結果は調査実施前に予想していた、健常者は肢体不自由障害者に比べADLレベルはもとより参加の程度及び主観的満足度ともすべてかなりの相違が見られ健常者の方がはるかに高い、という仮設を全面的に支持しない結果となった。尚、今回の健常者の調査の回収率が昨年の肢体不自由障害者の回収率と比較してかなり低かった要因としては、本研究は肢体不自由障害者の参加との比較研究であり、健常者である対象者自身の問題に直接関係しないというネガティブな意識が挙げられるかと考える。
