项目摘要

最終年度の調査成果としては、まず北陸・山陰においての集落遺跡出土木製威儀具の新たな類例の確認である。団扇形木製品では石川県小松市千代遺跡出土品が加わり、纏向遺跡を中心としての団扇形木製品の分布が北陸まで拡大することが確認できた。また、近在する千代・能美遺跡から出土している直弧文装飾木製品は、用途は不明であるが定型化する以前の直弧文が施された精巧な製品で、このような直弧文あるいは弧帯文が施された木製品と団扇形木製品が共伴したり近在の遺跡から出土する傾向が改めて確認できた。この様相は、奈良・滋賀湖南地域・石川などの古墳時代前期の遺跡にみられ、決して偶然性のものではなく、従来筆者が指摘するように古墳時代に新たにはじまる祭儀のなかで、木製威儀具としてともに使用されたものであると考えられる。蓋形木製品では、鳥取県青谷町青谷上寺地遺跡出土品から笠骨と連結して樹皮状の笠部を構成する部材や柄となる部材を確認し、弥生時代の蓋の全体像を復元できる可能性が考えられた。また、同じような視点から小松市八日市地方遺跡出土品も同様の復元ができるのではないかと思われる。その復元から弥生時代と古墳時代の蓋は構造が異なることが予測される。儀杖形木製品では、古墳時代前期初頭の最古の角状突起と鰭をもつ石川県金沢市畝田遺跡出土品が、玉杖や琴柱形石製品、「石見型」の祖型を考える上で重要な木製品であることが改めて認識された。この木製品は杖状木製品の先端を飾ったものとみられ、そのような木製品の全体あるいは先端部を形象し、石製品化・埴輪化したものが玉杖・琴柱形石製品・「石見型」であろうという認識を強くした。韓国での調査では、慶尚南道茶戸里遺跡・全羅南道新昌洞遺跡出土団扇形木製品が、筆者が団扇形木製品【○!2】類としたものとの共通性を改めて確認する一方、全体の形態としては、日本の団扇形木製品との差異が大きいことが認識された。
