中華人民共和国成立前夜から香港返還前夜までの半世紀における張愛玲の受容史と、女性作家と女性読者をめぐる四十年代の状況について明らかにするため、上海図書館蔵の四十年代文芸雑誌を網羅的に閲覧し、張愛玲に関する記事をリストアップし、目録を作成した。さらに張愛玲以前の女性作家と女性読者について、関連する書籍を比較検討し、二十年代から四十年代までに及ぶ女性作家の描く家庭観、家族観について論文を執筆した。女性作家による家庭観、家族観の系譜についてはなお継続して調査をすすめ、民国期全般にわたって検討を加えていきたいと考えている。また、張愛玲についての伝記調査を進めると同時に彼女の執筆活動期に重なる形で様々な政治・文芸活動を行っていた夫の胡蘭成について、日本亡命後の足取りを調査するとともに、上海・南京・東京にて保存されている彼の著述を収集、抗戦期における親日文人の思想形成について新たな知見を得た。胡蘭成は文学史・思想史からほぼ抹殺された文士であるが、国内にはまだ彼の教えた学生も多く存命しており、日本語で出版された著作も数多い。数年に渡る滞在で師弟関係を結んだ朱天文・天心姉妹などは台湾を代表する作家群の一隅を占めており、胡蘭成思想と張愛玲の文学芸術によって啓発されたところが少なくないと考えられる。今後胡蘭成独特の審美観及び女性思想について考察を深め、抗戦期の異端についてよりいっそう明らかにしていきたい。
