当初の計画に沿って,非平衡統計力学模型の性質およびその応用についての研究を進めた.まず,1次元非対称排他過程の時間依存の性質を調べた.この模型の時間発展に関する性質は,これまで組合せ論を使う技巧的な方法でなければ調べられなかったが,グリーン関数を足しあわせることにより,より一般的な初期条件に対して成立する結果を得ることが出来た.また,同様の手法により粒子の位置揺らぎに関する結果や,空間が連続的な模型に対する結果を得ることも出来た.これらの解析は,今後非平衡統計力学模型の種々の相関関数の計算に役立つと期待される.また,1次元非平衡模型の定常状態を厳密に構成する行列の方法と呼ばれる方法があるが,有限次元行列で厳密解を構成できる場合の特徴について調べた.一方,昨年度,統計力学の手法を用いて分割問題(Number Partitioning)の性質を調べたが,今年度はそのアイディアを発展させることにより,Shannon限界を達成する情報源圧縮用の符合を考案した.これは,これまで知られている符合と比べて実用的という訳ではないが,NP問題の相転移と情報理論の深い関係を示唆するものである.

The study of the properties and applications of nonequilibrium statistical mechanics models has been carried out in accordance with the original plan. The time-dependent properties of one-dimensional asymmetric exclusion processes are modulated. The time evolution of the model is related to the properties of the combination theory, the method of using the technique, the general initial conditions, and the results. For example, the same method is used to determine the position of particles, and the result is obtained from the spatial model. In the future, nonequilibrium statistical mechanics models will be used to calculate correlation coefficients. The steady state of 1-dimensional nonequilibrium model is closely related to the formation of the array. On the other hand, the method of statistical mechanics is used to solve the problem of Number Partitioning, and the method of Shannon bound is used to solve the problem of information source compression. The NP problem and the phase shift information theory have profound relations.
