茨城高専の2年生197名を対象に読解力テスト(Iijima1993)と平成13年度において完成させた日本人英語学習者の読解阻害要因に関するアンケート(33項目、5段階尺度形式)を実施し、データを統計処理した。アンケートで得られたデータについて、初期値をSMCとする因子分析を行った結果、5因子が抽出された(「情報統合能力因子」「スキーマ活用能力因子」「抽象思考能力因子」「学習意欲因子」「全体構造理解力因子」)。ここで解釈された各因子の標準因子得点を算出し、さらに分析をすすめることにした。アンケートに先立って実施した読解力テスト(20点満点)において、11点未満の学習者を読解力下位者(93名)、11点以上の学生を読解力上位者(104名)と分類し、両者の間で抽出された5因子の標準因子得点を比較してみた。分散分析の結果、「スキーマ活用能力因子」「抽象思考能力因子」の2因子においては読解力上位者と読解力下位者の間に統計的有意差は見られなかったが、「情報統合能力因子」「学習意欲因子」「全体構造理解力因子」の3因子において1%レベルの有意差が見られ、どの因子においても「読解力下位者>読解力上位者」の関係が見られた。この結果は、これらの3因子の関係項目に関して、読解力下位の学習者の方が、読解力上位者よりもより強く自分の読解阻害要因として意識していることを示唆している。読解阻害要因の中でも、特に「情報統合能力」「学習意欲」「全体構造理解力」の3点において読解力上位者と読解力下位者の間に明らかな差が存在することが示されたが、特筆すべきは「学習意欲」において有意差が見られたことである。外国語における読解の阻害要因に、学習意欲という情意的側面が強く関係していることが確認されたことは学習者を意欲ある、自立的学習者にする努力が重要であることを改めて示している。

The result of dispersion analysis, the 2 factors of "ability to use","abstract thinking ability factor", the statistical intentional difference between the superior and inferior of "ability to solve", the 3 factors of "ability to integrate information","desire to learn","overall structural understanding factor", the intentional difference between "ability to solve" and "ability to solve" The relationship between the factors of "lower strength> upper strength" is now seen. The results show that the relationship between the three factors is related to the relationship between the lower level of the learner and the upper level of the learner. There are three main reasons for resistance: information integration ability, learning intention and overall structural understanding ability. Foreign language learning is hindered by important factors such as learning intention, affective background, strong relationship, recognition, learner intention, independent learner effort, etc.
