Memories on World War II in China

本研究记录了中国人民战争经历的口述历史，并进行了系统的分析。作为一名人类学家，我在湖南常德地区进行了实地调查，当地居民受到了日军731部队细菌战的袭击。我每年大约去一次，主要是去看望受害者和他们的家属，在进行采访的同时，我还收集了官方文件、报告、电报、防疫小组成员回忆录等历史资料。本研究的主要观点可以概括为以下几句话。首先，从个体经历的回忆出发，将该地区细菌战的损害作为一个整体来看待，从而使对战争损害的认识建立在具体事实的基础上，变得可见。第二，人们认为战争对该地区造成的破坏与有关的社会和文化背景有关。第三，凝视受害者，例如，战争对社区的损害，在细菌战中受伤的受害者的生活等等。第四，分析了战争记忆的特征和遗忘现象。

This research records the oral history of the war experiences of the Chinese people, and analyzes it systematically. As an anthropologist, I carried out the survey by did a field work in Changde area Hunan Province, where the local people received the attack of germ warfare by Japan army 731 unit.I went to the region about once every year, mainly visited the victims and their families, and as while as held interviews, I also collected the historical data such as the official documents, reports, telegrams, and the memoirs of members of prevention of epidemics' teams.The main points of the research can be summarized in the following sentences.Firstly, it is approaching the damage as a whole of the germ warfare in the area from recollecting the individuals' experiences, so the recognition about the damage of the war based on concrete fact and become visible.Secondly, the damage which the war inflicted on the area is considered being connected with the social and cultural background concerned.The third, gaze at the victims, for instance, the warfare damages on the community, the life of victims after injured in the germ warfare, and so on.The fourth, the features of memories of the war and the phenomenon of oblivion was analyzed.
