The investigator established the dynamic theory of plasticity, in which Kotter's equation is combined with the continuity condition for the acceleration found by the investigator during the study on the seismic movement of the slopes. The concrete contents are as follows ;1.The dynamic theory of plasticity was formulated by introducing the continuity condition for the acceleration into the Kotter's equation.2.The investigator developed the Generalized Limit Equilibrium Method(GLEM) into the Dynamic Generalized Limit Equilibrium Method(DGLEM) as the numerical analysis method for the dynamic theory of plasticity.3.The investigator carried out some analyses on the problems of earth pressure, bearing capacity and slope stability using DGLEM.4.The investigator also carried out some model experiments on these problems, and got the limit of the dynamic theory of plasticity by comparisons of experimental results with the analytical ones.5.The investigator showed that the dynamic theory of plasticity can be applied not only to the earthquake problems but also to the execution problems like the dynamic pile driving.6.The investigator also studied the effect of velocity or acceleration on the strength parameters of soil, and concluded that they have no effect on the strength parameters in the problems where excess pore pressure is not generated.
