项目摘要

本研究の目的は擬声語、擬態語の中で特に感情を表す擬情語の意味を解明し、日本語の学習者むけに日本の中のみならず他の国の人々にもより広く使用され、内容を伝達できるよう、現在世界の中で一番多く使われている英語を言語媒介として一冊の本の形に著述し、より多く日本語または日本文化に関心のある人々に役立ててもらう事である。音象徴語といえばほとんど擬声語になる欧米諸語には感情を擬声語擬態語という形で表わさないため、英語を中心とし、他の言語と比べる言語対照学、言語と文化、異文化コミュニケーションの視点からみても非常に興味深いエリアである。使用した方法論は、現在オーストラリア国立大学言語学部教授Anna Wierzbicka博士中心にうちたて、世界中の大学や研究所において色々な言語で考察を進めているNatural Semantic Metalanguage Methodを用いている。これは世界中の言語に普遍する単語と文法のみを用いる意味記述方法論であり、他の意味論のような専門家でないとわからない用語、記号などは一切使用しないため、広く一般的に理解されるのに最適だと考えた。この方法論は毎年多くの言語から色々発展検証され続けられているために、その方法論自体に関わるワークショップに参加し、日本語からの考察検証を続ける必要があった。14年度8月のオーストラリア国立大学からの招聘発表と、15年度11月末ニューサウスウェールズ大学で行われたワークショップでの発表はその一環であり、この方法論のワークショップ出席は必ず発表を伴う。この二つの発表に科研費を使わせていただいた。他の海外の公式口頭発表としては15年度7月トロント大学で行われた第8回国際語用論学会コンフェレンスで発表が採択されたので、神奈川大学からの海外渡航費用を使わせていただいた。(後に必要となってくる研究費用を鑑みた結果)。ある程度名のある海外出版社は(今までの出版の経験上)、直しのない原稿を出しても出版にいたるまで3年はかかる。今回は規模が一冊まるごと自分のものであるため色々現契約出版社とのやりとりが多く大学の本業や雑多な委員会などの間に完成させるのは至難の業だが最終段階までやりぬくつもりである。
