複数人物が存在する環境での単一人物の実時間追跡に関する研究として,本年度は以下の項目について研究した.・アクティブカメラで撮影された動画像について,カメラパラメータから計算される動き情報とあらかじめ登録した色情報を利用して,指定人物を追跡する手法を考案した.・指定人物を同定する特徴量として,人物の着ている服の色情報を利用した.人物領域を頭部,胴部,脚部に分割し,それぞれの領域に含まれる代表色をモデルとして登録した.特に,頭部,胴部,脚部のいずれかが類似した色である場合でも,複数のパーツが類似色であることを記録して領域抽出をすることで適切に指定人物同定ができることを確認した.・人物を追跡する際,指定入物の身体の一部が静止物体や他の移動入物によって隠蔽された場合でも,画面内での指定人物の領域を正しく推定する手法を考案した.頭部,胴部,脚部それぞれのパーツが最後に正しく検出されたときの形状をテンプレートとして登録しておく.線形予測により人物の候補範囲を決定し,登録された色情報に類似した領域を抽出する.類似色領域から,身体パーツのテンプレートマッチングによりパーツの位置を推定する.テンプレートマッチングだけでは検出できないパーツについては,頭・胴・脚の大きさや位置関係に関する制約から位置情報を推定する.・指定人物が複数の移動人物と次々にすれ違う場面で,指定人物の身体の一部が隠蔽された場合や,他の類似色領域と連結してしまった場合でも,観測できている領域の形状に基づいて正しく指定人物の領域が検出できることを確認した.また,身体パーツのいずれかが類似色であっても,多くの場合は正しく人物追跡できることを確認した.・今後の課題としては,個々の身体パーツが複数の色からなる場合への対応や,分散処理による実時間処理化などが挙げられる.
