平成16年度は、この年度の研究の要として、アメリカのエール大学所蔵による、17世紀中期に主にドイツ・ハンブルグで活躍したオルガニスト、マティーアス・ヴェックマンの手によって複写されたフローベルガーの写譜(New Haven, CT, Yale University Music Library, Music Deposit 3 [Ms.Ma.21.H.59])の詳細な検証を所蔵先で行った。この写譜と、昨年度調査した、2003年にその存在が公表され、フローベルガー研究に今後多大なる新情報をもたらすことが期待されている、フローベルガーの作品21曲を収めた、17世紀後期に複写された写本(Berlin, Staatsbibliothek-Preussischer Kulturbesitz, Archiv der Sing-Akademie zu Berlin, SA4450)との間には、共通する事項が多く見られ、フローベルガーとヴェックマンとの親交関係を裏付ける資料となっている。両作曲家の交友関係は、18世紀に入ってからヨハン・マッテゾンによって報告されているが、親交の結果、ヴェックマンが、どの種類の、そしてどのくらいの数のフローベルガー作品を、どのような形で作曲家から入手していたかということは、マッテゾンの証言からは不明であった。またマッテゾンは、フローベルガー作品の写譜を所有していたことが彼の証言から窺えるが、それらとヴェックマンが所有していた写譜との関係は、これまでの研究ではまったく確立できなかったが、今回の調査によりこれがある程度判明した。これにより、18世紀初期においてのフローベルガー作品の伝承事情がより明確となった。
