项目摘要

本研究の目的は、集団場面における情報の共有化と「心の理論」能力の関係を明らかにすることである。従来の心の理論研究では、主に大型霊長類、乳幼児を研究対象としてきたのに対して、本研究では成人における「心の理論」能力に関わる問題を扱う。そこで、ゲーム理論における共有知識などの議論を参考にし、成人における他者の心的内容の理解と戦略的行動の関わりについて検討し(Ohtsubo & Rapoport,印刷中)、その内容を実際の相互作用場面に適用するために、主にマインドリーディング研究として行われてきた研究の方法を用いて、二者相互作用場面でのマインドリーディングに関する探索的実験を行った。具体的には、初対面の他者との相互作用の後で、相手が自分にどのような印象を持っているかを予測してもらい、それが実際に相互作用の相手がもった印象とどれくらい一致しているかを調べた。この結果、初対面の相手に対して好意を持っていたほど、相手からどのような印象を持たれたかを良く予測していることが明らかになった。この結果は、成人レベルでは、「心の理論」能力の個人差を見るよりも、動機付けによる差を調べることが重要であることを示している。また、マキアベリ的知性研究では、心の理論の進化に対して、相手を騙すことから得られる利益の重要性が強調されているが、もし相手を騙すことが目的であれば、好意を持てない相手に対してより積極的にマインドリーディングを行うのではないだろうか。したがって、本研究の結果は、心の理論の利用が、むしろ好意を持った相手と協調的関係を構築するために進化したことを示唆するものである。このことに関連して、相手の知識の状態を意識していることを前提とした認知的共同作業の問題についても、実験・フィールド調査などで検討した(実験結果については現在投稿・審査中)。
