1.「Habits, Time Preference, and the Propensity to Consume」これまで多くの経済学者が「消費者は正の消費成長経路において低い消費性向を持ち、逆に負の消費成長経路においては高い消費性向を持つ。」と主張してきた。しかしながら、その具体的メカニズムは明らかではない。本研究は合理的習慣形成モデルを用いてその理論的解明を行った。そして、習慣形成モデルは純時間選好率を内生化するが故に消費性向も内生的に変動し、上記の消費性向の動学的振る舞いが描写されることを示した。本研究は2004年日本経済学会秋季大会にて報告され、また現在、国際学術雑誌に投稿中である。2.「On the Burden of Public Debt : A Numerical Example」本研究は前年度の研究成果である論文「Welfare Analysis of Debt Policy」の理論的結果を日本経済に適応し数値計算検証を行った。一般に、現日本経済のように多額の国債を発行すると次世代負担が生じると信じられてきた。しかしながら、本研究は現在の日本が不況であり非自発的失業者を有することを考慮すると1990年代初頭の不景気突入以来一貫して次世代負担は生じていないことを示した。原論文「Welfare Analysis of Debt Policy」は2005年度・第7回・大阪大学社会経済研究所・森口賞を受賞した。また大阪大学発行のDiscussion Paperになっている。3.「Durability in Consumption and the Predictive Power of the Yield Curve」これまで多くの実証研究が「長短金利スプレッドと経済成長率との正相関」を確認してきたが、それは理論の観点からはパズルであるとされてきた。本研究では、消費の耐久性を考慮することで単純な理論モデルにおいてそのパズルが解かれることを示した。本成果は2005年日本経済学会春季大会にて報告されることが決定している。

"Habits, Time Preference, and the Propensity to Consume" is a phrase that many economists have come to understand: "Consumers are moving from a positive path of consumption growth to a low path of consumption orientation, and from a negative path of consumption growth to a high path." "Durability in Consumption and the Predictive Power of the Yield Curve" is confirmed by many empirical studies. This study shows that the durability of consumer goods is a theoretical problem. This achievement was reported at the Spring Conference of the Japan Economic Society in 2005.
