今年度前半は,本研究開始当初からの継続課題である,インド論理学における「内遍充論」と「外遍充論」の問題に最終結論を提出すべく研究に取り組んだ。この問題は,仏教論理学派のみならず,ジャイナ教徒やインド哲学諸派(特にニヤーヤ学派)によっても活発に議論されたが,これらの学派のうち特に,従来注目度の低かったジャイナ教諸文献を吟味することにより,この問題への新たな糸口を模索した。その結果,内遍充・外遍充という概念の区分は,ジャイナ論理学の創始者の一人,パートラスヴァーミンによって最初になされたのではないかという結論に至った。さらに,これらの術語を使用する学派またこれらが使用される時代によって,それらの意味内容・定義が異なることも判明した。このことによって,従来の研究に新たな視点を導入することができたと考える。この研究の成果は,平成17年8月22-27日にウィーンで行われた,第4回国際ダルマキールティ学会(Fourth International Dharmakirti Conference)にて,"Antarvyapti and bahirvyapti re-examined"(内遍充・外遍充再考)というタイトルで口頭発表する機会を得た。論文は現在投稿中であるが,今年あるいは来年出版予定の学会誌に掲載される予定である。後半は,昨年度から継続中のもう1つの課題である,チベット人の紹介するジャイナ教思想についての研究を進めた。昨年度までに,チベット宗義文献の1つ『ロサル宗義書』中のジャイナ教章のテキスト校訂と翻訳・訳注作成がすでに完了していたことから,今年度はそれを形にする作業を行った。ウパロサルは,ジャイナ教思想に関するほぼ全ての情報を,インド撰述のチベット訳文献から採り入れており,さらにそれらの多くの部分をジャイナ教文献に遡ることできた。この成果は,「チベット人の伝えるジャイナ教思想」というタイトルで,平成18年3月末に出版予定の『第四回報告書「人文知の新たな総合に向けて」』に掲載予定である。
