デジタル放送やインターネット放送など放送型情報配信システムおよびWWWによる情報提供サービスが急激に増加し、さまざまな情報を共有することが可能になってきている。しかし、提供される情報が多くなるに伴って、ユーザは自分がほしい情報を探し出すことが困難になっている。本課題では、情報検索の検索精度の向上や質の高い情報の取得を目的として,新鮮度・地域関連度(ローカル度)・話題の補完度といった新しい検索尺度とこれらに基づく検索手法について研究を行った。具体的には,本研究によって得られた成果は以下のように要約される:1.情報の時系列性に基づく新たな検索尺度と検索手法を提案した.具体的には,新鮮な情報,話題性の高い情報,および,緊急度の高い情報を獲得するため,情報の時間的な検索尺度として,新鮮度・流行度・緊急度の概念の提案を行うとともに,これらの計算を行うために,過去の配信情報との類似度計算に基づく方式を提案した.さらに,これらの計算方式においては,過去の配信情報をどの程度の範囲まで遡及するかが重要な課題となるため,評価実験を行い有効性を検証した.これにより,利用者が明示的にキーワード質問などを入力せずに,新鮮度・話題性・緊急度の高い情報を取得できる可能性を示している.さらに,これらの検索尺度に基づく情報フィルタリング手法の応用としてWebの変更通知システムと仮想チャンネル型情報受信システムを示し,提案手法の有効性を実際的な立場から検証した.2.情報の地域関連度に基づく検索尺度と検索手法を新たに提案した.具体的には,Webコンテンツに含まれる地理用語や組織名の出現頻度,出現する地理用語がカバーする地理的範囲に対する地理用語の出現密度にもとづいてローカル度を推定する方式を提案した.さらに,各地域で発信されるWeb情報の内容を相互に比較し,どの地域でも発信されている情報の度合い(日常度)といった尺度を導入し,これに基づいてローカル度計算を補強する方式も提案し,評価実験を行った.評価実験の結果として,適合率や再現率が向上できることが示されており,提案手法の有効性が示された.3.情報の話題構造抽出手法と補完度という新たな検索尺度に基づく検索手法を新たに提案した.具体的には,テレビ放送コンテンツに付随して配信されている字幕情報から,そのコンテンツの話題構造を自動抽出する手法,得られた話題構造を補完する話題構造を有するWebコンテンツを検索する手法を提案した.また,話題構造の補完の度合いを測る尺度として補完度という概念を導入し,これにもとづく補完情報の検索実験を行いその結果を示した.評価実験の結果は良好であり,提案手法によって,異メディアの情報を互いに補完する形で統合することにより,正確さや詳細度の高い情報を検索できる可能性を示した.
