本年度前半、「B.C.3世紀のアルシノイテス・ノモスの行政機構」で研究を行った。対象はエジプト中部、アルシノイテス・ノモスと呼ばれる一県である。プトレマイオス朝政府の対人税徴収(人頭税・職業税)では、県(=ノモス)の内部にいかなる行政階梯が構築されたのかを論ずる。県の内部は、各住民の人数に応じ、上からノモス・メリス・トパルキア・「徴税区」・村落という5つの行政レベルに組織されていた。村落は人数多様、「徴税区」は2千人、トパルキアは1万人、メリスは2万人、最終的に県全体では6万人になる。「徴税区」なる行政区の存在を指摘し、貨幣経済の導入により、同王朝が従来の行政に加え、金納税徴収の便宜から住民を合理的に組織化した事実を究明した。本年度後半、「B.C.120-110年、Kerkeosiris村の村書記Menchesの人的ネットワーク」で研究を行った。対象地域は前述と同じだが、扱うテーマが異なる。同王朝国家収入では、同王朝下に新規導入の前述対人課税に加え、やはり伝統的な「地代・地税」も大きな部分を占めた。この地租徴収のメカニズムを明らかとし、初めて統合的な同王朝官僚システムを究明し得る。村落レベルの書記Menchesが作成した文書の分析を通じ、地租徴収に必用な地籍台帳が、県の内部でいかに扱われたのかを究明した。「地代・地税」では、前述5階梯の行政レベルのうち、ノモス・トパルキア・村落の3つのみ機能していること、最末端の村落と最上位のノモスとが直結し、ノモス行政官が、直接村書記達を組織し、村のデータを取り纏め、2月頃首都アレクサンドリアに数人の村書記を伴って出張し、首都で国家最高位の財務大臣の前で報告した、という事実を明らかにした。これは地方の最末端の行政と国家最上位の行政とが、存外に緊密に結びついていたことを明らかにするものであり、同王朝官僚制研究に新たな光を投げかけるものである。上記2テーマは現在論文執筆中である。
