平成17年度は、本研究の目的達成の為に、バルトリハリ著『ヴァーキヤパディーヤ』第三巻及びそれに対するヘーラーラージャの注釈「プラカーシャ」について、次の研究を実施した。まず、前年度のインド渡航時に収集した写本写真を含む現在使用可能な『ヴァーキャパディーヤ』及び「プラカーシャ」の写本資料を整理し、同時にコンピューター上で画像ファイル化した。これによって写本使用の便が図られ、かつ永続的な保存が可能となった。次に、それら収集・整理された写本資料を利用して、『ヴァーキャパディーヤ』及び「プラカーシャ」のこれまでの読了部分、すなわち第一章「種詳解」章前半分(第一詩頌から第四十詩頌まで)、第二章「実体詳解」章、第四章「再実体詳解」章、第五章「属性詳解」章について、テキスト・内容・翻訳を再検討した。その成果は広島大学に提出予定の学位請求論文「ヴァーキャパディーヤ研究」に附論として収録の予定である。同論文は、既発表の論文を含むこれまでの研究成果と本科学研究費による成果等を集大成するものであり、それによって、抽出された語意の観点からバルトリハリの言語理論が明快に示されることとなろう。なお、研究計画において同論文は本年度中に広島大学に提出される予定であったが、『ヴァーキャパディーヤ』及び「プラカーシャ」の写本の整理編集作業と写本研究の成果反映に予定外の時間と労力を要したため、今年度中の提出は見合わせざるを得なくなった。しかし研究の内容そのものに変更がないことはいうまでもない。そのほか前年度に開催された国際バルトリハリ学会での口頭発表の内容を論文としてまとめた。近刊の同学会報告書に掲載予定である。
