项目摘要

○田代安定の残した資料の調査を行い、その資料群から彼の学問の特徴が、専門である植物学のほかに近世期の本草学の方法論が見て取れることを指摘した。具体的には、本草学が研究対象およびそれが生息する土地などに対して多方面の目配りをした上で客観的に対象を研究するという方法論を田代は身に付けており、それが田代の資料が高く評価されているものと見なされていると論じた。また、田代は沖縄の結縄・記標について資料収集・原理の記録もおこなっており、沖縄の廃藩置県後急速に廃れていった、文字によらない民衆の数の世界を早い時期に研究した点も特筆される。その中で、物事の意味を象徴的に表す結縄の存在を指摘したことは田代の研究の特徴であると指摘した。○沖縄新民謡のパイオニア・普久原朝喜が1937年に録音した《布哇節》(作詞作曲:普久原朝喜)を取り上げ、《布哇節》という1つの作品について、主に、音楽学、言語学、文学の3つの研究分野の視点、さらに、若干ではあるが、社会学や歴史学に関わる部分を含めて、多面的な視点からの作品分析を試みた。その結果、作品の社会的背景、歌詞の使用語彙・語法の特徴、歌詞の文学的表現の特徴など、多面性を浮き彫りにした。担当:文学的アプローチとして、沖縄の伝統的な歌謡〔オモロ・古謡・琉歌・組踊〕などの歌詞とのつながりや日本文学における用例との比較と、他2氏と共同で「まとめ」を執筆した。○折居彪二郎の残した鳥獣の採集日誌のうち、台湾の採集日誌を翻刻し資料化した(説田健一氏・鷲田善幸氏と共著)。1932年当時の台湾の鳥獣および現地の様相を採集家であった折居氏の目から見た記録である。この中には鳥類の実見記録や依頼主に送付したリストもあり、当時の生息状況を知ることができるものである。
