项目摘要

本研究の目的は、戦時下の南方占領地へ派遣された民間人のための二つの訓練機関-拓南訓練所・拓南塾をとりあげ、その組織の実態を明らかにするだけでなく、派遣された個人に焦点をあて、なぜ南方へいったのか、訓練機関で何を学び、現地で何をしたのか、聞き取り調査や個人資料を使って明らかにすることにある。そしてさらに、彼らの活動を被支配者側から相対化することが、本研究の最大の焦点である。本年度はまず拓南塾に焦点をあて、論文「『移民』から『拓士』へ-拓南塾にみる拓務省の南方政策」を執筆、雑誌掲載となった。次に、拓南錬成所の卒業生たちが主に派遣されたグアムで、彼らの戦時下の活動が現地のひとびとにどのように記憶されているのかについて分析した論考「断裂する日本占領下の記憶-グアム・チャモロのひとびとと旧日本軍」(今井昭夫・岩埼稔編『記憶する地層を掘る-植民地支配と戦争の語り方』お茶の水書房、近刊)を執筆した。また、拓南錬成所の概要について、『沼津市史通史編近代I』(沼津市史編纂委員会編、近刊)にも寄稿した。最後に、本年1月と2月下旬〜3月下旬にかけて、拓南塾の卒業生が派遣された、フィリピン・タルラック州で現地調査を行った。特に現地での卒業生が従事した倉敷紡績の綿花プランテーションに関わったフィリピン人側の関係者や、対日協力者であったフィリピン人家族を捜し当て、合計20人以上もの聞き取り調査を行なった。またマニラのフィリピン大学やアテネオ・デ・マニラ大学にて日本占領下の資料調査、特にマイクロフィルムの調査を実施した。この調査は来年度中に論文化する見通しである。

The investigation of data under Japanese occupation and the investigation of special information under Japanese occupation were carried out. The survey was conducted in the middle of the year.
