项目摘要

本年4月2日に開催された、農村計画学会国際シンポジウム「アジア巨大都市と都市農村計画」において、デルタの埋立開発に関する話題提供を行うとともに、パネリストを務めた。招待講演者であるインドネシア・チャイ博士、ベトナム・ゾアイン博士、タイのダナイ博士とデルタ都市の開発と災害について活発な意見交換を行った。また、シンポジウム後のエクスカーションを責任者として計画実施し、東京低地開発現場を見学して現地で意見をかわした。その後ダナイ博士とはバンコクにて共同研究を継続している。7月11日から8月26日にかけて、バンコクおよびメトロマニラにおいて、地形改変の量的質的空間分布・埋立材の広域フローに関する、現地長期調査を実施した。この調査は本研究の最終長期現地調査として重要な位置付けにあった。バンコクにおいては、低湿地の新規開発地をくまなく踏査して、埋立材の質に関して記録するとともに、起原を採石場・採土場までさかのぼって探り、デルタ全域スケールで埋立材の物質フローを明らかにした。マニラにおいても同様に現場から埋立材の起原を探り、中央台地の建築廃材とピナツボ火山灰が埋立母材であることをつきとめた。帰国後は、これまでの成果と今夏の調査内容を統合し、マニラとバンコクを主要な事例地域とした比較研究として、博士論文の執筆を開始した。最終的には、デルタの空間スケールに応じた実用的な都市農村計画を、新たに提示できると確信している。
