项目摘要

統計科学・情報科学において,確率分布のサンプリングおよび期待値の計算のために重要な手法であるマルコフ連鎖モンテカルロ法および逐次モンテカルロ法についての研究を行った.逐次モンテカルロ法は多数のシミュレーションを並列に行いながら,データに適合性のあるものを選択し,シミュレーションを分岐させていく手法であり,ターゲット追跡やロボティクス,経済時系列など実時間のデータ処理での有効性が実証されているが,外部環境あるいはデータの生成源が急激に変化する場合やデータの得られる間隔が長い場合には効率が低下するという欠点がある.これに対し,一般的に有効な方法として,ブロックサンプリング法を提案した.本年度は,昨年度に引き続いて,ブロックサンプリング法による逐次モンテカルロ法の効率化についての研究をすすめ,状態空間モデルについての実装を試みた.さらに,本年度は,マルコフ連鎖モンテカルロ法の新しい手法であるSpace Alternating Data Augmentation法を提案し,実装した.基本的な考え方は,EM法における潜在変数に相当するものの表現を工夫することで,局所的極値を回避し,効率を向上させるものである.本研究ではEM法においてすでに提案されていたこの考え方をマルコフ連鎖モンテカルロ法に拡張し、ガウス混合分布に適用して,その有効性を示した.
