This project aims to complete radiation resistant magnet which is made from completely inorganic materials. For this purpose, we have continued the R&D works on the next two points ;1,R&D of Mineral Insulation Cable (MIC) with high current density2,R&D of various magnet parts which were made from completely inorganic materialsThe R&D works of the section 1 have already been completed by our previous works. However magnet parts of the section 2 are not ready even at the start point of this work (2003). Then we started the R&D works on ;1,Temperature switch,2,Water pressure switch,3,Interlock logic circuit,4 Mineral insulation signal cable :The R&D works for these parts have been made and reasonable good results have been obtained. Then we assembled the test magnet with these parts as well as MIC excitation coil and the long term test operation has been performed. In addition it, these parts were applied for the actual magnets of real operating beam lines of the KEK 12 GeV-PS.Now we can conclude it the magnet fabrication by completely inorganic materials is successfully done. In the last year of the project, we have investigated the wider scope of the magnet application to the real high intensity beam line. Then the setting up the magnets with beam monitors, vacuum ducts etc. etc.was tested. The beam line design with actual physics motivation has been performed I order to test the usefulness of the magnets at the real beam facility.
