本年度はまずワーカーズ・コレクティブを事例として取り上げ、日本においてオルタナティブ組織が体制の中で既存組織と競争する道を選択した場合に、どのような影響を受けるかという点について事例をもとに考察し、論文にまとめた(『年報社会学論集』16号参照)。考察の結果、オルタナティブ組織は外的圧力を受けて官僚制的側面が高まることが考察された。このことから、Weberの鉄檻の呪縛に現代社会は依然として囚われ続けていると結論づけざるをえない。しかしながらオルタナティブ組織の既存組織への挑戦は決して失敗ではなく、むしろその挑戦を高く評価すべきである。本研究で取り上げた二つのワーカーズは、外的圧力から運動体的側面が薄れたがどちらの組織も設立から10年間以上存在し続け、その間、共同体や平等のイデオロギーを色濃く保ちながら一定期間活動を続けた。運動面と事業面のジレンマについて、二つのワーカーズは運動面から事業面重視の組織体へと変容を遂げたが、組織運営において運動面と事業面は両立し得ないのであろうか。NPOやワーカーズを含めた社会運動組織において、この命題はとりわけ重要である。しかしながら、両立の仕方は組織の掲げる運動面の内容により異なる。ワーカーズのようにメンバー間の平等を運動理念とする組織に対する一つの答えとして、意志決定への直接参加を確保するために組織を小規模に押さえ、技術の専門化による分業化や差異化がおこらないように技術の高度化を防ぐことにより、事業面と運動面のジレンマを防いだり、また組織が拡大した場合には、スピン・オフ(分離独立)をすることにより、組織規模を小規模に保つことができるだけでなく、同様の組織を増やすことにより、運動全体の影響力を高めることにつながるであろう。また、本年度は日本における非営利組織研究の一例として、現在新たに創設されつつある法科大学院にも注目し、いくつかの大学へ聞き取り調査を行った。

Now, a new survey was conducted on the establishment of the Faculty of Law.
