项目摘要

最終年度の今年度は、米軍統治下沖縄の出生力転換とその説明要因について、生殖をめぐる女性の論理と意思決定過程の変容を中心に研究した。それを論文の該当章にまとめ、昨年度までの研究成果とあわせた論文の初稿を津田塾大学・三澤健宏教授に提出した。また、米軍統治下沖縄の人口と生殖をめぐる政治を解明するための補足調査として、国際家族計画連盟(IPPF)ロンドン本部で資料収集を行った。その分析結果を論文の該当章に加筆した。2008年12月には正式に論文を津田塾大学に提出する予定である。1.生殖をめぐる女性の論理と意思決定過程の変容については、論文の第7章「女の人生の変容--高学歴化と被雇用者化のジェンダー的含意--」、第8章「結婚と意思決定の諸相--晩婚化と恋愛婚の主流化--」、第9章「子どもを産むこと・産まないこと--家父長制的文化と女たちの交渉--」、第10章「ジェンダー化された子育ての場--女の連帯と男の不在--」として執筆した。これは、米軍統治下で出産を経験した第2コーホート(1925-50年生まれ)の女性56名を対象に行ったインタビュー調査の結果を、量的分析と質的分析を相互補完的に用いて検討したものである。その際、対照コーホートとして第1コーホート(1925年以前生まれ)と第3コーホート(1950年以降生まれ)を設定し、第2コーホートの動向と比較した。これらの論文の一部を横浜国立大学出前講義(アウトリーチ活動)で発表した。2.米軍統治下沖縄の人口と生殖をめぐる政治については、「生殖をめぐる交渉--米軍統治と沖縄の家族計画--」の博士論文第5章を加筆修正した。加筆部分は、米軍統治下沖縄で、IPPFが沖縄家族計画協会を加盟国とし資金援助を行った背景と資金配分の状況について、IPPFロンドン本部と西太平洋事務局、日本の家族計画団体の交渉過程を詳述したものである。

The results of the survey were quantitative and qualitative.
