4月以降、調査研究を継続し、分担執筆した、エジプト・メニア県・アコリス遺跡の発掘調査概報が英文で刊行された。7月中旬から9月上旬にかけて、アコリス遺跡の発掘調査に参加した。調査地では発掘作業に加え、遺構や遺物の図化、写真撮影、実体顕微鏡を使った遺物の観察およびデータ整理などを行った。現地での発掘調査終了後から9月下旬まで、外国隊が調査している発掘現場を訪問し、意見交換を行った。また、エジプト国内の他遺跡や博物館をまわり、観察調査、写真撮影を行い情報収集にあたった。帰国後は調査成果の整理・検討を行ってきた。層位の考古学的調査と遺物の編年学的検討から、これまで末期王朝時代と考えてきた遺構が、第3中間期まで遡る可能性があることが、明らかとなった。主テーマである採石・石材加工業の研究に関する書籍や論文が増えつつあり、文献収集を行うとともに、これまでの自らが収集したデータとあわせて検討をおこなっている。現地調査の結果、ギリシア起源と考えられていた「鋸歯ノミ」の起源がエジプトにあることが伺われ、さらに出現年代も古くなる可能性が出てきた。副テーマである他の古代産業との比較研究に関しては、今シーズンの発掘調査で出土したビーズ鋳型の検討を行っている。日本国内で行われている製作実験を参考とし、また現代ガラス工芸作家に話を聞くなどして、製作技法の復元を行った。その成果は日本ガラス工芸学会雑誌「Glass」49号に掲載予定である。1月には発掘調査のシンポジウムが行われ、採石場の操業年代に関する議論が行われた。岩面に残されている銘文から、ある程度の操業年代の予測が立てられたが、誰が主導で採石を行っていたのかなどの、当時の労働形態については不明な点が残されている。現在は、遺跡、遺物の図面のトレースと発掘調査概報の執筆にあたっている。
