(1)『日本近代文学』誌に論文「ポストモダニズム文学の現状と展望-アメリカ文学の場合」を発表。本論では、「文化」と「翻訳」、とりわけトリン・ミンハらのいう「文化翻訳」の重要性を意識しつつ、近年のポストモダニズム文学の流れを歴史的視点から再解釈した。結果、ポストモダニズムにおける「人種」と「ジェンダー」の問題を「日本」という範疇にとらわれず、「アジア系」、「ユダヤ系」といった視点も踏まえ論じた。(2)『グローバル・フォーラム』誌に英語論文"Specters of "Female" Japan : the Missing Representation of Japanese Women in Gravity's Rainbow and Vineland"を掲載(2006年3月末刊行予定)。本論は、2002年アメリカ、University of Louisvilleで開かれたTwentieth-Century Literature Confbrenceにおける口頭発表に加筆・修正を加えたもの。トマス・ピンチョンの描く日本人登場人物が男性に偏向していることから、なぜ日本人女性が表象の対象とならないのかを文化・歴史的背景を踏まえ論じた。(3)現代の日本人や日本に滞在する外国人がどのような人種観をもち、いかなる人種関係を形成しているのかを分析するためのアンケートを実施。早稲田大学国際教養学部に留学中の外国人留学生、及び日本人学生を中心に、アメリカ映画Sayonara(1957)とオーストラリア映画Heaven's Burning(1997)に見られる日本人女性の表象に関して、「人種」と「ジェンダー」の問題を中心に質問を行った。
