日本語による円滑なコミュニケーションを促進するための音声教材の作成を行った。「依頼」を教材のテーマとし、「依頼」行為の円滑な遂行を学習の目的としている。WebCTを用いて「依頼」場面での音声的特徴と手順を示した練習教材を提示している。具体的には以下のような作業を行った。前年度に収録し、デジタル変換した各音声ファイルと会話のスクリプトを研究補助員に依頼し、WebCT上に掲載する作業を行った。現在、実際に使用する際の問題点等の点検を行い、問題のあった音声の再収録、デジタル変換、スクリプトの修正等を行っている。WebCT上での練習では音声の韻律的特徴に注意を向けさせるため、適切な音声を3択で選ぶという方式をとっている。迅速なフィードバックを目指し、学習者が練習後に学習結果をWebCT上で見られる形で提示している。学習者の学習結果を分析できる形でプログラムを組んでいる。設定場面を変更したものについては、再度、場面となる場所の写真撮影を行った。同一場面を男女それぞれの声で提示し、且つ、画面の構成を統一するため、実際の人物ではなく、アニメーションの人物を背景となる場面の写真に挿入する形式とした。各場面の画像の下絵を作成し、現在、専門家に人物像の作成、写真との合成を依頼している。また、実際に学習者に提示する前に、東京出身の日本語母語話者に教材用の音声がどのような感情、意図を表しているかを聴き取ってもらう準備も進めている。そして、学習者がこの教材を使用した結果、どのような効果があるかについて調べるため、使用前、使用後に行う会話試験についても準備を進めている。
