项目摘要

本研究の目的は、擦文文化と本州文化の物流経済の社会的な構造の復元を試みることであり、第一に、擦文文化から出土する本州文化の遺物の集成を行い、その特性を明らかにする。第二に、それらの遺物の生産地および供給地を明らかにし、流通経路や交易の拠点について検討する。第三に、このころの文献史料から交流や交易を示す記述の集成を行い、考古資料と比較し、歴史的背景について検討するものである。平成17年度の研究は、研究目的にそって次のとおり実施した。1.北海道における擦文文化期の遺跡・遺物の調査(1)北海道南部(函館市)、北部(小平町・天塩町)、東部(常呂町・網走市)を中心に海岸部、河川流域の遺跡に関する立地環境の調査を実施した。(2)北海道中央部(札幌市・苫小牧市)、北部(小平町・天塩町)、東部(常呂町・網走市)を中心に擦文文化期の交易品とみられる遺物の調査を実施した。さらに、福岡県の鴻臚館跡展示館(調査事務所)、福岡市埋蔵文化財センターにおいて関連資料の調査を実施した。2.東北地方北部における擦文文化併行期の遺跡・遺物の調査(1)青森県(青森市・五所川原市・中泊町)を中心に鉄製品、須恵器などの生産地および交易拠点となる遺跡の立地環境の調査を実施した。(2)青森県(青森市・五所川原市・中泊町)を中心に鉄製品、装飾品、須恵器などの調査を実施した。3.調査結果の集成およびデータベース化(1)交易品とみられる遺物のデータ集積を実施した。(2)鉄製品、装飾品、須恵器などのデータ集積を実施した。(3)交易品の生産地に関するデータ集積を実施した。4.その他(1)北方交易に関する文献史料の収集を実施した。(2)青森県立郷土館、青森県埋蔵文化財センター、五所川原市歴史民俗資料館、北海道埋蔵文化財センター、札幌市埋蔵文化財センター、苫小牧市博物館などの調査・研究機関での情報収集を実施した。
