周産期ケアの情報開示にむけた基礎データとして、出産施設選択のための情報提供ニーズを明らかにするため、出産を経験した褥婦に対して質問紙調査を行った。【方法】平成16年7月から10月の期間に、大阪府吹田市に位置する、病院1ヶ所と近隣の診療所2ヶ所において、産後1か月健診に来院した褥婦240名に質問紙を配布した。調査内容は、(1)出産施設を選択する際に利用した情報源、(2)役に立った情報源、(3)情報に対する満足度、(4)出産施設を選択する際に重視した内容、(5)今後出産施設を選択する際に重視する内容とした。(5)については、厚生労働省告示第百五十八号「医業若しくは歯科医業又は病院若しくは診療所に関して広告することができる事項」66項目を57項目に要約し、対象が理解しやすい表現に改めて、質問項目を作成した。「1.まったく重視しない」から「5.非常に重視する」の5ポイントリッカートスケールにより回答を求めた。回収数107、有効回答数106(有効回答率44.2%)であった。【結果】(1)利用した情報源は、9項目中、「友人・知人」、「ホームページ」、「家族・親類」の順に多かった。(2)役に立った情報源は、「友人・知人」、「ホームページ」、「家族・親類」の順であった。(3)出産施設を選択するまでに、満足のいく情報が得られた者は64.2%、得られなかった者は34.9%であった。(4)重視した内容は、10項目中、「医療者の質」、「施設の設備」、「施設の場所」の順に多かった。(5)今後出産施設を選択する際に重視する内容として、「5.非常に重視する」と「4.すこし重視する」と回答した者の合計が半数以上の項目は25項目であった。25項目について因子分析を行った結果、「受診しやすさ」、「医療事故の防止」、「公的な医療の保障」、「施設の設備と制限」、「医療の専門性」の5因子が抽出された。
