项目摘要

本研究は、日本と英国の学校文化において、セクシュアリティをめぐる規範がどのように(再)生産されているかを、当該青少年への面接調査や教科書のテクスト分析などの手法を用いて明らかにすることを目的としている。そのため本研究では、1970年代に性的少数者の解放運動が組織化され、性的少数者が社会の中で比較的目に見える存在となってきている英国と、1950年代から社会の中で目立たない形で情報の共有が図られていながら、社会に順応する形で性と生を形作ってきた日本の性的少数者の様態を比較対照し、そうした社会基礎を踏まえて、両国の学校文化において性をめぐる規範がどのように生起しているのかを調査している。そのため本年度は、以下の作業を行った。1、英国と日本における同性愛をめぐる動きを、歴史社会学の知見に学びながら体系的に整理した。2、ロンドン大学の性的少数者のミーティングに定期的に出席して参与観察し、現地の当該青年の動態の把握に努めた。3、上記2)のミーティング参加者の中からレズビアンとゲイの学生1名ずつに面接調査を実施し、英国の中等教育において同性愛がどのように扱われている(いない)かについて情報を得た。英国では、民族的少数者を侮蔑するような発言に対する指導と比較した場合、性的少数者を侮蔑するような発言を取り締まるような学校文化はないが、個別に教師に相談すれば対策をとってくれるというように、性的少数者に関する教員の意識が一定程度高いことが明らかとなった。4、日本の英語、国語、社会、倫理、保健体育、音楽などの教科書を探査し、そこに見られる異性愛的表象を指摘した。
