申請者の研究はベルクソン哲学を音楽との関わりについて考察するものである。これまでに(1)20世紀の作曲理論をベルクソン哲学の観点から解釈すること、(2)ベルクソンの哲学理論を演奏という具体的な芸術活動の場に置き直す、という二つの方向で研究を行ってきた。平成18年度は、上記二つの方向性をふまえながら、20世紀音楽とそれ以前の古典音楽の時間構造をより詳細に分析する研究を行った。音楽作品は通常、拍節構造とメロディという二重の時間構造を持つ。ある種の現代音楽は規則的な反復に基づく古典音楽の拍節構造を「音楽的時間を不当に束縛している」と考える。しかしベルクソンの時間概念に照らすと、古典的拍節は「自由」で「創造的」な持続(dur□e)の時間構造と矛盾しない。音楽家は規則的な拍子に従いつつも、厳密に均等な時間配分で演奏するわけではなく・現実的にはそれらを伸縮させつつ独自の旋律形体を創造する。ベルクソン哲学から導き出される創造的時間の本質は、数的計測と不規則に合致しつつ、創造的主体が自らの選択によって旋律形体を形作るプロセスに存在すると考えられる。このようなベルクソン的時間論から見た場合、規則的拍節を持たない20世紀音楽、および伝統的な東洋音楽の時間構造はどのように解釈されるだろうか。申請者は以上のような問題意識のもと、これまで行ってきたオリヴィエ・メシアン、ジョン・ケージの研究に引き続き・ピエール・ブーレーズ、ヤニス・クセナキスの音楽作品の分析に着手している。この研究のため、18年9月、ひと月間パリに滞在し、ジョルジュ・ポンピドゥーセンター付属の公共情報図書館および国立近代美術館資料室で文献・資料の調査を行い、執筆中の博士論文に有用な情報を収集した。

The music works are usually composed of two parts, namely, the rhythm structure and the time structure. The rhythm of modern music is repeated according to the rules of classical music, and the rhythm structure of music is not restricted properly. The concept of time in classical rhythm is contradictory to that of "freedom" and "creation". The rhythm of music is regular, the rhythm is dense, the time is equal, the music is present, the rhythm is independent, the melody is created. The nature of time of creation, the measurement of numbers, the combination of irregularities, the subject of creation, the choice of self, the shape of melody, the existence of existence, etc. The time structure of the sound system of the 20th century is different from that of the other systems. The applicant shall proceed with the analysis of the music works of the above-mentioned problem awareness, research and development.
