経済学で標準的に用いられてきた合理的意志決定モデルの一般化を行った昨年度の研究を、整理・拡張するとともに、経済理論のセミナーで発表を行った。顕示選好理論の拡張となるこのモデルは、選好関係に関する基礎付けの方法、とくに(選好関係に関して)比較不能な選択肢があるような、不完備な選好関係に関する基礎付けの方法となりうる、そしてまた、選考の不完備性という概念そのものの理解を深めるうえでも非常に有効になる、という評価を受けた。特に理論的な側面からみた場合に、非自明な無差別な選択肢と比較不能な選択肢が存在する不完備な選考の基礎付けになりうるという点が成果となる。これは当初意図していた研究目的、つまり、現状点維持バイアスと呼ばれる現象そのものを合理的な経済理論の枠組みで説明することによって、教育の経済理論の有効性を高めようというものとは若干異なる方面に対する成果といえる。しかし、それ以上に、関連の薄いと思われる公理論的なアプローチと行動経済学あるいは教育の経済学といった分野の結びつきを明らかにできたといことは、今後行動経済学あるいは、教育の経済学といった分野でも、公理論的アプローチの利点、つまり、人間の行動基準を誰もが合意できるようなひとつひとつの公理に分解できるという利点を生かすことによって、経済学の説明力を高めていくという研究の端緒となる成果があげられた。
