本年は、16世紀における風景と地図の密接な相関関係の一端を詳らかにすることを目的に研究を進めた。とりわけピーテル・ブリューゲル(父)の下絵(1558年)による銅版画《アントワープのシント・ヨーリス門前の氷滑り》は冬の情景とアントワープの都市像を結び付けた最も初期の図像と考えられる。8月と2月に行ったベルギー王立図書館、アントワープ市立図書館、ベルリン国立素描館における調査では、要塞の完成した1557年以降、以前の都市図を特徴付けていた河向こうの都市景観ではなく、新しく完成した都市の要塞の側からの都市景観図が著しく増加したことが明らかになった。ブリューゲルの図像はこれらの都市景観図と同様の地誌的な関心をわけあうことから、本版画を地誌的風景画の展開の中に位置づけることが可能となった。また本版画は16世紀後半、アントワープの画家たちに数多く描かれた「雪のアントワープの景観」のプロト・タイプとなる作品である。油彩による「雪のアントワープの景観」の登場は1575年以降というアントワープが事実上衰退していく時期と重なっている。これらの作品を図像的、背景となる歴史的事実から分析した結果、かつて繁栄していた都市の姿を懐かしむ同時代人のノスタルジックな感情の高まり、そしてブリューゲルが1565年以降、油彩において手がけた「雪景色」の流行を背景に生まれてきたことが推察された。さらにこれらの作例は、必ずしも景観の忠実な再現とはいえないが、「地誌的」な概念やその「地域」の時間的、空間的特性という「近代的」風景画の成立に不可欠な構成要素を含んでいるという点において、「ジャンル」としての風景画の成立過程におけるひとつの大きな転換点を示すことが明らかになった。以上の考察結果は、3月に開催された美術史学会東支部例会において口頭発表し、現在その内容を学会誌への論文(6月宋投稿締め切り)として執筆し、投稿を準備中である。

For example, it is necessary to reproduce the loyalty of the scene, to reproduce the concept of "geographical", to describe the characteristics of time and space, and to establish the "modern" landscape painting. The results of the above investigation were presented orally at the regular meeting of the East Branch of the Art History Society in March, and the contents of the paper were prepared for submission in June.
