项目摘要

研究開始当初より研究資料を収集することにより、理論的背景の整理、質的データの整理方法の検討、指標の緻化を行っている。平成17年9月の日本社会心理学会第46回大会(兵庫)、および平成18年3月の日本発達心理学会第17回大会(福岡)、この間数回行われた研究会(東京・福岡)では、研究内容に関わる多様な知見に接し、研究手続き、分析方法に関する多くの情報を得た。平成16年4月から平成18年3月まで(継続中)、研究代表者が大分市内にあるデイケア施設に週1回通い、施設利用者に対して傾聴ボランティア活動を行った。各回での活動の結果、聞き取った内容を徐々にデータ化し、分析・検討して平成17年10月に大学の紀要に、平成18年3月に日本発達心理学会第17回大会にて報告した。本研究のデータはフィールドノートに記された質的な記述であるため、取りまとめに慎重にならざるを得ず、現在もデータ分析を続けている。また、愛媛県松山市における老人病院・老人保健施設における本調査は、調査を依頼する研究支援者(学生)に前年度より施設利用高齢者との接し方、傾聴ボランティアとしての態度等について訓練を行い、平成17年9月に実施予定であったが、台風の直撃に遭い延期した。調査は平成18年2月に同施設で実施し、傾聴ボランティアの実施可能性をボランティア側から検討する機会を得た。特に、ボランティアが学生であったことで素朴な感覚からの有益なデータが得られたため、平成18年6月の日本老年社会科学会第48回大会において報告する予定である。現在までの成果として、傾聴ボランティアの好ましい影響は高齢者・ボランティア双方に感じられていることが明らかになった。しかし同時に、傾聴ボランティアの好ましくない影響(負の効果)についても、双方への影響を考察する機会に遭遇し、ボランティア活動の実施および促進については注意が必要であると考えられる。
