项目摘要

1)前年度に引き続き、渡島管内森町や日高管内平取町などの温室トマト産地について、現地調査を実施した。北海道産のトマトは、その冷涼な気候と温室ハウスとを組み合わせることによって春秋の年2回収穫し、全国に出荷されている。これは、川下段階における消費が周年化するとともに、それを支える流通が近代化したことに、各産地が対応した結果として捉えられる。そこで、コンヴァンシオン(品質)の優位性を確保するために各産地がどのような対応を採ったのかという点に、特に注目した。具体的には、自治体の農政担当部局や、農業協同組合・農事実行組合・任意集出荷団体のほか、個別に農業経営を訪問し、川下側からのコンヴァンシオンの要求にどのように対応してきたのか、その結果として産地がどのように変化してきたかの解明を試みた。研究成果については、(財)北海道開発協会調査総合研究所・平成16年度助成研究論文集において公表したほか、査読つき雑誌論文を投稿中である。2)空知管内長沼町や上川管内剣淵町などの転作大豆産地において、産地形成プロセスに関する現地調査を実施した。かつて水田単作地帯だった道央地域は、生産調整政策の下で著しい変容を遂げてきた。しかし、生産調整作への対応のあり方は地域によって異なっており、大豆への転作が卓越している事例はごく一部に限られる。そうした地域における転作作物としての大豆の選択理由と、大豆転作の普及プロセスを解明することによって、野菜を含む農業空間の再編成プロセスを解明することができるものと期待している。具体的には、自治体の農政担当部局や、農業協同組合をはじめとする農業関連団体のほか、個別に農業経営を訪問して聞き取り調査を実施した。
