東南アジア地域における地域主導型図書館モデルづくりのため、タイ、インドネシア、ラオス、べトナムの図書館および博物館を中心に調査を行った。タイでは、平成16年度から継続的に行われているマハーサラカム大学にて行われた「ローカル・インフォメーション・マネージメント」を主題とするプロジェクトに主催者の一人として参加し、インドネシア、フィリピン、タイ、ラオス、ベトナム、カンボジアからの参加者とともに地域情報の収集・保存・発信における図書館と博物館の役割について、毎年それぞれの研究成果を発表し、議論を重ねた。この成果は、今年度以降、共同執筆し出版する予定である。インドネシア、ラオス、ベトナムでは臨地調査を行い、現地の政府機関やNGO、国際機関などにおける既存の図書館プログラムの問題点と図書館の現状などが明らかになった平成18年度からは、地域社会と<記憶>装置としての側面からの地域図書館を検討するために、インドネシア華人社会における図書館や博物館の事例の検討を行った。本研究の成果は、「東南アジアにおける図書館コンソーシアム動向」『情報の科学と技術』(2005)、「アジア・オセアニア地域と図書館-IFLAアジア・オセアニアセクション委員会活動より-」『カレント・アウェアネス』(2006)、「東南アジア研究所図書室」『アジ研ワールドトレンド』(2007)、「エスニシティ表象としてのミュージアム-ポスト・スハルト期インドネシアにおける華人アイデンティティの創成-」,『言語社会』(2007)などに反映されている。

Southeast Asia Region Dominated Library Research Center In the 16th year of Heisei University, the main theme of the university was "The University of Heisei University". One of the main promoters of the university was involved in the development of the university. The participants of the exhibition will collect, preserve and transmit regional information.
