项目摘要

本年度は一連の研究の最終段階として、ルドルフニ世の宮廷で制作されたものの、死後ハプスブルク家のコレクションより流出した北方ルネサンス美術の翻案作品を確定すべく古文書調査を重点的に行った。中でも、ドーリア・パムフィーリ美術館所蔵の《聖エウスタキウス》については、ルドルフ二世の宮廷画家スプランゲルがデューラー版画に基づいて制作したものであることが様式的特徴から推測されるものの、ルドルフの生前にあたる1603年に編纂されたアルドブランディー二家の財産目録にはそれと思しき記載が既にみられる点が、作品帰属と大きく齟齬していた。というのも、1621年のハプスブルク家の財産目録には、この作品に該当すると考えられる記載が存在するからである。しかし、同家および同家のコレクションを引き継いだパムフィーリ家、ドーリア家の財産目録等を精査した結果、同コレクションには、デューラー版画を模写した質の劣る「聖エウスタキウス」がもう一点現存しており、これが1603年の財産目録に登場する作品である可能性が高いことに加え、1626年以降の目録には「聖エウスタキウス」を主題とする絵画が2点存在することが確認された。つまり、スプランゲル作品は1621年から1626年の間にハプスブルク家からアルドブランディー二家のコレクションに流入したと推測しうるのである。同じくヤン・ブリューゲルによる翻案作品がメディチ家のコレクションで最初に確認されるのが1628年であることを鑑みると、11620年代中葉がルドルフ死後の美術コレクションの解体期の一つであったことが確認される。総じて、プラハにおける北方ルネサンス美術の受容と翻案には、T.D.カウフマン氏等が指摘するアカデミズムの文脈での過去の美術の規範化に加え、多様な鑑賞形態の提供、洗練された受容者への技量の誇示等、多層的な構造が認められる。この点が、当現象特有の性質といえよう。
