大阪大学の西條辰義教授、草川孝夫、赤井研樹をはじめとする共同研究者と共に、大阪大学の社会経済研究所で実験を行った。実験では、1回の実験では24人の被験者をあつめ、ネットワーク外部性がある財の購入について特殊な予約券販売方式有効であるかどうかを検討した。実験においては、財の販売が困難な悪環境と、比較的容易な良環境の二つについて実験を行った。特殊な予約権方式を採用した場合の実験結果では、理論との整合性が80%を超えた。これは、実験研究では、稀な値である。また、予約券がない場合の実験結果と比較し、1%有意で、社会的余剰を上昇させることが分かった。さらに、予約券がない場合の実験結果も、ランダムに人々が行動した場合と比較して、1%有意で異なっており、全体的には、理論どおりの成果であることが分かる。しかし、予約券がある場合と比較した場合には、予約券なしでかつ良環境の実験結果は、比較的理論予測との整合性のないデータが多かった。これについては、アンケート調査や、細かな行動分析から、人々の合理的ではない行動がデータとの整合性のずれを生んでいることが示唆された。理論面では、Group Strategy Proofを満たす制度を作る際には、均一価格販売方式しかないことが示され、理論面からも、この方式の正当性が分かった。さらに、タイプが連続の場合に理論が拡張された。また、人々の(狭い意味での)合理的ではない行動について、Indirect evolutionary approachを拡張した理論について、説明するモデルが作成された。各研究成果については、国際学会を含む、学会や研究会などで報告された。
