项目摘要

今年度は引き続き、離散群に関連する作用素環の研究を行った。作用素環には大別してC*環とフォンノイマン環の二種類あり、多くの研究者はどちらか一方を専門にしているが、私は両方の分野で活発に研究している。離散群Gの複素係数群環CGはヒルベルト空間1_2(G)に畳み込み積で作用している。このCGを作用素ノルム位相のもと完備化したものを既約群C*環と言い、C*_r(G)と表す。一方、畳み込み積で作用する作用素全体のなす環のことを群フォンノイマン環と言い、L(G)で表す。群が可換の場合、Gのポントリャーギン双対をXと書けば、フーリエ変換によって、C*_r(G)とコンパクト空間X上の連続函数のなす環C(X)は自然に同型になる。また、X上のプランシェレル測度をμと書けば、L(G)はL^∞(X,μ)と自然に同型になる。これらのことから、一般の非可換群Gに対する既約群C*環や群フォンノイマン環の研究は非可換位相空間論や非可換測度空間論であると捉えることが出来る。私は離散群Gの「幾何学」がこの非可換空間の構造に反映されることを示した。これは通常の測度空間が原子を除けば一意であることと非常に対照的である。今年度は特に、Kazhdanの性質(T)と作用素環の関連について研究した。

This year, the study of action element rings in discrete groups was carried out. There are two kinds of action elements in the ring: one is the action element ring, the other is the action element ring.
