The Study of Former Coal Mine Workers' Retirements

本研究的目的是详细描述在1971年Joban煤矿有限公司关闭时经历就业中断的前煤矿工人的退休过程。Joban Coal Mining Co., ltd.是日本主要的煤矿公司之一，但于1971年停止运营。上述目标是通过以下三个步骤实现的。(1)建立了Joban煤矿公司曾经受雇工人职业生涯微观数据的大型数据库。(2)分析了煤矿关闭后的职业生涯与煤矿关闭后的职业生涯之间的联系以及非自愿职业中断的影响。(3)对个体矿工从初次就业到终止就业的各种职业进行纵向分析。对非自愿中断职业的影响、中断就业后的职业影响以及退休后的生活影响进行了分析，并发表了研究结果。

The objective of this study is to describe in detail the retiring process of former coal mine workers who experienced the disruption of employment at the Joban Coal Mine Co., Ltd., closure in 1971. The Joban Coal Mining Co., ltd., was one of the major coal mining companies of Japan but ceased operation on 1971. The above objective was accomplished through the following three steps.(1) Construction of a large data base of micro-data regarding the careers of the workers who were once employed by the Joban Coal Mine Co.(2) Analyses of the connection between the careers at the mine and those of the jobs after the closure of the mine and of the effect of involuntary career interruption.(3) Longitudinal analysis of various careers of individual miners from the initial employment to the termination of employment.The effects of involuntary interruption of careers, careers after disruption of employments, and their lives during retirement ware analyzed using the large data base for the entire lives, and the results were published.
