项目摘要

平成18年度はオランダ・ヨーロッパに渡り、日本の蘭学・洋学の原著のプロソポグラフィー的調査を行った。すなわち原著の現地(オランダ、ドイツ、イギリス、フランス、ポーランドなど)での学統、いかなる職種の医療職がその原著を利用したのか、また原著者自身の教育歴・職歴も、図書館、公文書館、博物館などに保存されている史料・文献をもとに検討した。同時に、日本の医学史の一部をなす、朝鮮近代医学教育史について、日韓併合時代(1910-1945)を中心に、朝鮮の開国(1876年)から朝鮮動乱(1953年)までの期間を、日本・韓国に保存される文献と史料で調査した。両国の屈折した歴史を反映し、戦後、この分野の研究をした者は、非常に僅少である。朝鮮における近代医学(洋学)が、直感的に想起されるように、その内容が日本の近代医学(洋学)と差異があるのかどうか、朝鮮で医学教育を行った医学者、診療を行った臨床医、朝鮮総督府で働いた医療・警察官僚などについて、その学歴・職歴を、プロソポグラフィー的に検討した。1907年に京城に初めて近代的な大韓医院が、朝鮮統監府によって創設された。この病院が現在のソウル国立大学附属病院の前身にあたることから、創設100周年の2007年春に、韓国ソウル大学で、東アジア諸国において西洋医学の受容に当って、国家が果たした役割についての国際シンポジウムが開催された。筆者は口本を代表して、このシンポジウムに招かれ、講演・討論すると共に、記念論文集に本研究の成果を取り入れた内容の論文を発表した。
