Ideorogical Studies on the geographical descriptions of JAPAN-CHINA

The main object of this project is to make a comparative study of the geographical descriptions of JAPAN-CHIN A.But geographical descriptions was almost scattered or lost. Therefore, we must gather materialis on the geographical descriptions, and We must restore to there original state.On this project, we made two works.The first, we investigated the old Chinese geographical descriptions that were still alived in Japan. "NIHONKO KU GENZAISHO MOKUROKU" was the oldest catalog of Chinese descriptions in Japan. We investigated this catalog (Result:On the Geographocal Books Contained" in the "Nihonkokukenzaisho Mokuroku" (Part 1)).The second, we examained on a text of "Tian Tai Shan-Ji" . "Tian Tai Shan-Ji" is a kind of the mountains regional geography for Mt. Tain Tai. It was written by a Taoist Monk Xu-Ling Fu in Tang dynasty. We re vised this text, and wrote notes on it. By this textual qriticism, a part of this text (P.13〜) were decipherd ("The Critical Edition of "Tian Tai Shan-Ji" (Vol.2) : The Report of Reseach R roject, GRANT-IN-AID FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH, 2008)Besides that study, some workers-Ohashi, Tamura, Kobayashi, Iiizumi-,investigated this text from ther own ways.
