本研究は,通常の加齢変化(normal aging)を対象とし,1.高齢者の注意特性の検討,2.高齢者の認知機能の維持・回復を目指した訓練手法の開発の基礎となる科学的データを提供すること,を目的としている.本年度はこれまでの研究成果の認知リハビリテーション分野への応用可能性について検討した.1.高齢者の注意特性の検討:昨年度からの研究を継続するとともに,これまでの研究成果を日本心理学会第71回大会(WS092:Cognitive Agingを考える-注意機能は加齢に伴って低下するのか?-)において報告した.2.研究成果の認知リハビリテーション分野への応用可能性の検討:外傷性脳損傷(脳外傷)患者を対象にケース研究を実施した.頭部外傷により高次脳機能障害と診断された慢性期の脳外傷者1名を対象に,社会復帰(就労)に至るまでの認知機能の変化を縦断的に検討した.認知機能の評価には,昨年度に絞り込みを行った認知機能評価バッテリ及び展望記憶検査を用いた.具体的に就労の準備を開始する直前と就労を開始する直前に認知機能を評価した.結果,展望記憶検査のスコアに顕著な変化が認められ,就労直前の評価においては展望記憶成績が健常者と同等の水準にまで回復していた.詳細な分析から,展望記憶成績の向上は,適切なタイミングで実行すべき行為があることを思い出すこと,すなわち「存在想起」がうまく機能するようになり,意図した行為の"し忘れ"が減少したことに起因していることが明らかとなった.これらの結果は,一度低下した展望記憶機能は訓練によって向上可能であることを示唆している.これらの研究成果については国際会議(Society for Neuroscience 37th Annual Meeting)にて報告した.

As a result, the memory function was once lower than that of the prospective memory function. The results of this research were presented at the 37th Annual Meeting of the Society for Neuroscience.
