项目摘要

本研究は,農村地帯に放棄された水田を,ビオトープとして,学校教育や社会教育の材料として維持・管理し,活用していくシステムを確立していくことを目的としている.フィールドは,平成17年度と同様,越前市(旧武生市)黒川町の休耕田を用いた.このエリアは,武生西部地区と呼ばれ,ナミゲンゴロウやハッチョウトンボのほか,アベサンショウウオなどの希少種が数多く残存する地域として有名である.環境省が全国から4つ選定した「里山保全モデル事業」の1つにもなっている場所である.フィールドとなった休耕田の管理を始めてから,今年で4年目である.近年の温暖化,少雪傾向を反映してか,イノシシの増加が目立つ.そのため,あぜの決壊が頻繁に起こり,その対策が必要となった.なお,希少種であるナミゲンゴロウは,平成19年度も新成虫が誕生している.トンボ類では,ニューフェイスの飛来は見られなかったが,種多様度は全体的に維持されている.里地保全で最も重要と言うべき,地元の協力は相変わらず強く得られている.アベサンショウウオに代表される希少種の保護活動が,住民の意識を高めているのは言うまでもないが,それから派生して,外来種問題などにも協力を得られている.オオクチバスやアメリカザリガニと言った里地に生息可能な侵略的外来種に対しては,地域の厳しい監視の目が存在する.昨年度から見られるようになったヒシ類の極端な増加は見られず,トンボ類にとって,重要な休憩場所及び産卵場所になっていることが観察された.他地域に位置する休耕田との比較の調査を前年に続き,継続した.北陸における水資源の豊かさは,本州太平洋側や四国,九州と比べて際だっており,ビオトープ造営や維持・管理に関しては,大きな強みであることが改めて示された.
