膨大な数のWebドキュメント中から有用な教材をいかに検索するかは,重要な課題である.これに対し,既存手法では,特定の授業専用の教材や手作業による分類等の処理済の教材など,検索対象が限定される.一方,実際の書籍等ドキュメントの探索では,ユーザ(学習者)間で,様々な主観的知識が共有され,その主観性が近い他のユーザからの「この本は役に立った」という形のごく抽象的な表現・伝達による情報を手がかりとして,有用なドキュメントの発見に至ることが多い.本研究では,学習者間での主観的知識の表現・共有を反映可能な教材検索手法の開発を目的とした.ここでは,支援対象とする「学習」として,研究活動等を含めた可能な限り広い意味での創造的活動を考える.また,そこで扱われるWebドキュメント,電子メールとそのユーザ間でのやり取り,活動の過程で生成されるメモや成果物などを広義の「教材(知識情報)」として捉える.本研究では,他者とのやり取りも含めた学習過程における複雑な視点や話題の捉え方に対応可能な教材管理・共有・検索支援手法を開発することで目標達成を目指すアプローチをとった.まず,実際の学習活動における教材の管理・共有・検索について,主観的な要素を含む学習者間・教材間関係の表現手法を分析・検討した.その上で,いくつかの具体的な知的活動を対象として,「教材の個人整理・関連ユーザ間共有の共存支援手法」「創造的活動のプロセスにも関係する教材管理・検索上の主観的な視点に応じた教材間関係視覚化手法」「教材間に潜在する話題(学習目的・意図)抽出手法とそれに基づいた教材管理・検索支援システム」を開発した.最後に,テストケースデータを用いた実験,支援システムの試用実験により,定性面・実践面から提案手法の特徴や有効性を評価した.現在,本研究で開発した支援手法・システムの更なる応用・拡張可能性について模索している.
